Day 1-Traveling to Scotland

Meeting at the Airport & our Transatlantic Flight

Our flight information has been received!   We will be traveling from Dulles Airport to Glascow with a stop at London's Heathrow Airport.

Interestingly enough, Heathrow Airport had some workers on strike recently!   Lets hope things go smoothly & there are no disruptions during the time we are flying through London.

British Airways

The group will be flying on British Airways.  BA has over 100 years of flight history that has evolved over the last century.   Check out BA's history broken down by decades!

The BA posters and Uniform Sections are incredibly fun to browse!

Our Plane!

Our flight over the pond is schedule to be on a 777!   The 777 is one of the biggest commercial planes in the skies!   The Boeing site & a wikipedia entry for the 777 talk about the design which can hold a larger load of passengers in it's wider cabin.

"It can accommodate a ten–abreast seating layout and has a typical 3-class capacity of 301 to 368 passengers, with a range of 5,240 to 8,555 nautical miles [nmi] (9,700 to 15,840 km; 6,030 to 9,840 mi). It is recognizable for its large-diameter turbofan engines, six wheels on each main landing gear, fully circular fuselage cross-section,[6] and a blade-shaped tail cone."
